Launched by the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways (MoRTH) in 2021, the BH series number plate (Bharat Number Plate) aims to simplify the vehicle registration process for those who frequently relocate from a state to another. Here is the eligibility, benefits, and application process explained for the BH number plate.
BH Series Number Plate Eligibility:
State and Central Government employees, defense sector personnel, bank employees, and employees of private companies with offices in more than 4 states or union territories are eligible to opt for BH series number plate.
How To Apply For BH Series Number Plate
You can apply for a BH Number Plate through MoRTH’s Vahan portal or with assistance from your vehicle dealer, who will fill out Form 20 on your behalf. Private sector employees must submit Form 60 (Working Certificate) and their official employee ID.
The “BH” series is selected during the application, and the required fees or motor vehicle tax are paid online. The Regional Transport Office (RTO) will verify the owner’s eligibility and approve the BH series number plate.
BH Series Number Plate’s Required Documents: The required documents for the BH Series Number Plate include a PAN card, Aadhaar card, official ID card, and Form 60.
BH Series Number Plate Road Tax: Vehicles registered under the BH series are charged road tax for two years (or in multiples of two, four, six, or eight years). After 14 years, the tax is payable annually.
